I’m competing with several other SEOs to rank for the term cheeni climate, an SEO contest organized by Srishti 2008. The motive of this contest is to see who is the coolest SEO on the planet. While I keep myself away from these contests, I’m joining this contest because this is organized by IIT Roorkee one of the prestigious institutions in India and who knows I could be called their for the #1 prize! Keeping my fingers crossed!
The thing these types of seo contests do is let us understand the search engines and their work more. I’ve my own SEO techniques strictly white hat, not even slight grey! This is also one of the reason for joining this contest. The rule says:
- We strongly discourage link spamming. We have efficient tools to monitor the same and will disqualify those resorting to the same.
- Website will not use SEO methods which are clearly not approved by Search Engine Guidelines. (Any participant ignoring the Google webmaster guidelines will not qualify for a prize).
- We encourage white-hat optimization techniques.
This way we could learn what works best and what has become obsolete. These seo contests also helps us to brush up our skills.
