So, after a long time of hard work, I’ve finally reached #2 rank for the term, seo expert, right next to Brad Fallon, who has held this position for quite some time now. Let’s see if anyone could outrank him.

How did you manage it, Manish?
Hmm…it was not an easy task. You got to be called an SEO addict to achieve that rankings…hehe…Jokes apart, a few things I would like to share that has helped me to achieve this position are:

1. Solid Link Building: I got solid links from industry specific top sites like, TopRank Blog, CartoonBarry.com, Wiep.net, BlogStorm.co.uk, 10e20 Blog, Learning SEO Basics, Ask-Kalena.com, etc. Thank you all for your help and support!

2. Solid Social Media Presence: I got many many solid social media friends, like Jeff Quipp, Maki, Muhammad, Tal Siach, Tad, Prashant, Kalena, Tamar, Kimberly, Shana, Kirsten really love you all! So, that helped me to get the articles going on the social media circle, and gain more link love from bloggers.

Update: 05/05/2008

Rashmi Ranjan, took my attention to his new findings, that Google has to say something else…

Anybody could duplicate this success and achieve what ever they aim for. So, go on and make a happy blogging life.

In the world of internet marketing, you don’t need a fancy degree to make your mark in this profession. Here are some tips to help you become an internet marketer.

TIPS FOR SUCCESS

1. You need to know your marketing for the product or service being sold.

2. You will need to write an ad for the marketing of your product. This can be done by utilizing an account in Ad Sense or Google adWords. These types of ad writing services will teach you how to create an ad using keywords. Keywords are words that are repeated in an ad and optimized for a search engine. Therefore your ad will be considered SEO or search engine optimized. You will have to pay a price to use these services, but your ad will be seen by millions on the World Wide Web.

3. You will need to acquire a web site and create it specifically to sell your wares or services. In creating a web site for your product, please bear in mind your product or service. Most web hosting sites will let you create a web site or will show you how to do so. This keeps prices down. Your descriptions of your products will need good clear photographs for your site. Your site will need to be clean and crisp to attract business. This means writing clear, understandable copy descriptions for each item. On your site, your contact information will need to be displayed.

4. You need to make up business cards, stationary and envelopes with your business clearly written on all of your business stationary. The installation of a second phone line might be a good idea. Some businesses require that you get a license, some don’t. You will need to check with your local government about it.

5. You will need to acquiring a filing cabinet and accounting software. This is to help you be able to keep correct accounts. You must have some sort of system in place for your business. This is a business, so it must be treated as such. One other option is well worth mentioning here. A merchant account will help you with sales by credit card on the internet. QuickBooks has a good software system to help you in creating such a merchant account. Again this costs money, but is well worth the financial expenditure.

It does take money to make money. The final step is after all other steps have been taken. Use common sense in the marketing of your internet business. Treat this as a business and treat your customer’s right and your internet marketing business will last a long time. Treat it as just a chore is a good way to lose your business before you start. It is not that hard to be professional and treat others in a professional matter. In doing this, you attribute firm success to your internet marketing business and it will last for a long time.

The past few weeks had been very exhausting for me. I received a lot of emails and phone calls from people to do SEO work for them. I wasn’t able to make up mind if I’ll be doing work as an seo freelancer or an in-house seo expert. I talked to many professionals who are involved in this business from foreign as well as in the country about this matter of concern. What I found is that in-house SEO could count good if the company is good and of course the salary package is great!

In a recent phone call I heard from the caller that We’re sorry! There was some misunderstanding about your profile and please forward your resume to us. Now, the thing which I wanted to share is that before analyzing anyone, one should always do their own research. It’s simply not difficult to find an SEO professional online. Just a small search about him/her on Google will provide you with immense data.

Talking about work experience, well every people learns things from their experiences in life. I’ve learned quite a lot of thing in my life, personal as well as professional and there is still a lot to learn to achieve what I dream!

So, I thought to update my profile and include the information that would be useful for such people!

Now, the question passes on to you my valued readers, how experienced are you?

For many years I’ve been seeing Brad Fallon to hold the #1 ranking for the term seo expert, but today I found that he had lost the ranking to www.searchengineoptimizationcompany.ca. The reason why this is a big achievement because Brad’s site had achieved an authority status for the keyword seo expert, but yet it dropped from the rankings. So, one thing is clear that even the authority domain could be beaten up in rankings. Just don’t worry and do your work which you believe is the best.

I’m ranking #3-#4 for the term seo expert india depending on which data center you hit, and wish to rank for “seo expert” too. Lets see when I could crack the front page.

A lookup on the two websites:
1. www.searchengineoptimizationcompany.ca
Yahoo IBLs: 9927
Google Site Search: 750
Google PageRank: 5

2. www.bradfallon.com
Yahoo IBLs: 16,856
Google Site Search: 540
Google PageRank: 4

Update: Well I can see the site back on the top spot with all the site links.

PS: I would also like to update you about the seocontest2008, it is a good feeling to see the post rising on the google. It’s on the 6th page right now and improving. Well without any much effort it is ranking pretty well and I’m happy about it. Only a couple of days are left before the contest concludes. Support me!

My friends like it but I’m looking for some more impressive wordpress theme. I hacked this theme and made it to work like me. Which I really like about this one. But again you got to move ahead with better options.

The one which I’ve in my mind to go for is one from Brian, the Vertigo theme. Looks decent with good color combination. Lets see when I get the time to upload it and hack it to make it work according to me.

The reason I’m thinking to change this theme is that, it doesn’t align well on IE6. Many people here in India still use Internet Explorer and hence don’t see the blog, the way it is meant to. They don’t know the power and ease of FireFox. The reason people use IE is because it comes bundled with the windows operating system, and they kind of don’t see the pleasure of using other browsers. I’m really a big fan of FireFox!

So the question now passes to you my readers, do you like this theme? Or shall I change it and use another theme, please guide me to some good theme, free or premium.

One day I was writing an article and one of my friend’s came in to call me to go out with him to play. I told him to wait for a few minutes till I finish my “SEO” work! He was shocked to hear this and without any delay called me an “SEO Addict“. Wow this gave me a new idea of post and when I told him about this he was like. “Ahh! Come on Manish.” So this post is an inspiration from my friends Vikram, Saurabh, Anchal, Susheel, Manu and Dileep.

So without any further ado, here are those top 11 reasons which my friends say supports my addictiveness:

1. Check Rankings: When I come online, first thing I do is check my website’s rankings. Check my seo expert blog and seo company site where it ranks on Google.com.

2. Check Emails: Next thing I do is go directly to check my emails for any new SEO announcements, news, or orders.

3. Check Google Analytics: Next I check Google Analytics to check my blog’s stats.

In a community based website such as Digg, everyone craves their submissions on the front page. Here are 5 very important points I would appraise before adding you on my friend’s list so that adding you may prove contributive to my popularity and help me crack, the front page on Digg.

1. When did you join Digg and for how long you are active?
The first thing I would want to know is that how long you have been on Digg to evince that you are an active Digger and make sure that adding you on my friend’s list would insinuate more Diggs to my submissions.

2. How active you are on Digg?
While adding any new contact one thing that everyone has in his mind is that how am I going to profit from it? Now that is an obvious question! I would anticipate my contacts to be highly active on Digg so that I could expect higher Diggs from them.

I would query through your past records and leap through your Diggs and Submissions. Now say if I see that you have made 7 submissions and 50 Diggs in the past 48 hours then I would certainly add you on my list as this would affirm higher Diggs to my submissions.

On the other hand if you have 40 submissions and 40 Diggs it would imply that you are only privy to Digging your own posts! Thus, adding you on my list would not be much consequential. Then why would I want to add you on my list?

3. You have shouts or instant messenger open or not?
The availability of shouts or instant messenger on your account will enable me to send my submissions to you (even though I hardly bother to shout about my submissions). Timeliness are an important consideration in such sites. Let’s say if I post an article today but am not able to send shouts or message you about my submissions to my friends. If they are not very active Diggers my post will not have plenteous Diggs and would lose its popularity and chances to hit the front page.

Further I would also scrutinize the kind of stories you share. If you share negative stories and your posts are more often “buried” than “dugg” I would surely not be enthusiastic to add you on my list. You frame a negative impression through your posts and having you on my list I might share the same impact.

4. How many mutual friends do we have?
Mutual friends are the friends who you and the person whose profile you are viewing, are both a friend of.

If Sid is one of my friends on Digg. Now you send me a friend request on Digg, I view your profile and find Sid on your friends list too then I’m likely to add you as a friend.

Having mutual friends is an advantage on social networking sites where you need to have a growing network of friends. Larger number of friends procreates aggrandized chances of getting your posts more Diggs. Increased number of Diggs leads to? I bet you know that!

5. A familiar username or avatar!
Suppose you send a friend request to me on Digg and I am familiar with your name (or avatar) from some other social networking site such as, StumbleUpon, del.icio.us, reddit or Sphinn, I would definitely want to add you on my network of friends.

If your username is familiar to me through some other social media site it would incorporate trust. If yours is a well known name in social networking, firstly it would mean you are an active member and you already have a far-flung network of friends. Adding you on my friends list would ensure augmentation of my network too.

Secondly, if you are active on social networking sites you are a well recognized name and therefore having you in my contacts would build an affinity of people towards me and it would have a positive effect on my image in social media.

Link Love posts are the ones that is meant to spread this blog’s link love to bloggers that help the community grow and make better place to be. Bloggers are working so hard to provide useful resource, if they don’t get link love and applause then I feel it’s pretty unfair on our parts. This also helps in providing our blog visitors with useful content which they might miss otherwise.

Today in Link Love:

First we start from SEO MegaCorp which has two beautiful interviews from Jeff Quipp and Kalena Jordan. Both these people are an extra ordinary SEOs and masterpiece. Find their interviews here. Kalena Jordan Interview and Jeff Quipp Interview. Again over at SEO MegaCorp, Prashant shared a beautiful article on “Looking For Targeted Traffic?” Try Social Networking Sites, which describes how you could reach out your target audience with Social Networking Sites as well as a post Social Media “The Road To a Friend’s House Is Never Long”, which tells us about the power of social media and how to use it.

Over at TopRankBlog, Lee writes an amazing post about Pull PR - Combining SEO and Public Relations. The two together play a vital role in making a company’s profile.

Jennifer Slegg, comes up with her Twitter guide. Which has Ten ways market your blog on Twitter without being a spammer. A very useful guide if you’re serious about marketing your blog on Twitter.

Over at SearchEnginePeople, Jeff comes up with yet another article on social media. In this article he discusses about Using Social Media to Build Authority. A simple yet very important guide that makes you learn the tips to build yourself as an authority.

Over at WriteToDone, Leo Babauta comes up with his 31 Ways to Find Inspiration for Your Writing. Which will inspire you to write more and more.

Maki over at DoshDosh, explains Why Are You Giving Away Content for Free? with his article.

Tad over at SEO2.0 blog writes the Version 2 of Top 10 SEO Myths. He explained remarkably well what are the myths that roam around in the SEO world.

Holly over at CopyBlogger, writes Surprise! Not All Women Think Alike, which shows how women involved in blogging don’t think alike.

Reem Abeidoh writes IM Etiquette: 8 Tips from Top Social Media Users, where he explains how to use instant messengers in social media arena.

Skellie writes an amazing article sharing her secret to great content with the title, My #1 Tip for Creating Better Content: Write in Advance. Where she shows how just writing your content in advance can change the world for you.

Over at PeoplePositionMarketing you could find interviews of link building experts where they share their secrets.

Last but not the least, I would like to inform you that I won an SEO Contest organized by Srishti. I’m also taking part in another seo contest. The term to rank is seocontest2008, a very big contest but still I’m keeping my fingers crossed. A huge sum of $1000 to be won! Wish me good luck!

I just took part in the seo contest organized by Srishti 2008 to see if I could rank for the term cheeni climate, within a week. Well I did and stood #1! The official announcements are still to be made, so you could call this as an un-official announcement what I found on the Google.com. The motive was to rank for the term cheeni climate and I did it fair enough!

What Did We Learn From This SEO Contest?
Well I thought to post a complete article discussing this issue, but for just an outline I could say that Google has now become fairly knowledgeable to see a site and the links pointing to it. I linked to the page http://mpind007.googlepages.com from my this SEO Expert Blog and SEO MegaCorp News Blog. Both these blogs are fairly trusted by Google. So it was quite easy for Google to see the page to be worth the top spot.

What Next?
I’ve also took part in the seocontest2008, to see if I could do well there too. Just keeping my fingers crossed!

Final Words: Wish me luck guys and link to the seocontest2008 entry post from your blogs/sites if you want to see a friend winning. Thanks!

Update - 03/07/2008: The official announcements are out now. You can find the results on the Official Contest Page.
